Reme Gold is a retired Newton Kindergarten teacher, who is enjoying her new life as a potter.

Reme has been a potter at Mudflat Studio in Somerville since the mid 1970’s. She works in Porcelain, a fine English China Clay. Her work is made on the potter’s wheel, and is high fired in a gas kiln. Her work is food safe, and it can go in the oven, the dishwasher, and the microwave.

Reme’s other love is dance, and many of her designs are inspired by movement. Reme is fascinated by abstract designs because of her childhood experiences taking the Rorscharch Test. She uses glaze overlaps to create some of these designs. Other decorations on her pottery are influenced by her interest in cloud formations, and her love of color.
