Betsy Frost’s style reflects her love of dance and movement
(she has toured the world as a dancer for “Up with People.”)
She strives for fluidity in her work, and will “reinvent
a shape” by giving it movement with links or hinges. Her
designs have a Scandinavian feel, since she once studied silversmithing
in Sweden. She also draws inspiration from everyday life: when
talking to another person, she may focus on the wallpaper patterns
or designs in a carpet, trying to envision the shapes as beautiful
pieces of jewelry,
Betsy earned a BA in Metals from Massachusetts College of Art
after leaving a graduate program in counseling psychology. She
works primarily in sterling silver, and her pieces are either fabricated
from sheet into hollow form or cast through the lost-wax process.
Betsy Frost lives in Ipswich, Massachusetts.
