Susan brings her photographer's eye to both landscapes and other subjects that catch her eye, but her passion is macro photography — revealing the details of flowers, weeds, or other items, things that we often miss with our own eyes. She also uses a digital darkroom to alter her images to fit the emotional tone she felt when taking the photo. Prints are put on archival photo paper or canvas using archival inks, and if framed, the glass or Plexiglas is UV protected as well.

Largely self-taught, Susan took early retirement to follow her passion for photography. She has also studied with Tony Sweet, André Gallant, Freeman Patterson, and Nancy Rotenberg. Susan has won many awards for her photography, but what she enjoys most is bringing joy to others through her art. She also teaches photography to individuals and groups from time to time.
